BMW E36
BMW E36
Dastek Unichip Q Engine Management System piggybacking the Stock BMW M3 CSL ECU - MAF removed and BMW ECU reprogrammed to accept MAP sensor via the Carbon CSL Intake system
Engine also had mild cams fitted thought not dialled in for maximum lift
This was first for me personally using the Dastek System (Which i must say was fairly nice to use)
Awaiting the owners report on the cars drivability n throttle response, as initially the engines drivability suffered due to the fact that the BMW M3 CSL ECU was wanted to see a MAF sensor
The Dastek ECU wasnt able to trick or bend the signal of the factory ECU to be blind to this so good ol’ Danny @ Motorworx (UK’s Premier Dastek Dealer) was able to assist me with the programming of the factory BMW ECU to trick the ECU into NOT wanting to see a MAF sensor so as I could tune off the fitted MAP sensor
A link to a full report on how the car drives Im sure will appear on a BMW forum somewhere and ill happily post it up for all to see
From what I heard though, the car drives extremely well and its very very responsive
Special thanks to the owner on this tune for his patience as this was a total first for me with this system and the st German ECU ive had a chance to integrate a system into and tune with
Also, a special thanks to Danny @ Motorworx for his late night with me and Dastek UK for their help also with this (as I believe the MAF - MAP problem was a first for them also - so I wasnt the only one, hehe)
Looking forward to some track reports very soon and ill update my NEWS blog with further info
